This paper tackles the philosophical effect of depression on Kafka Tamura, major character in Haruki Murakami’s Shore. Tamura has shown quite a clear disparity his personalities, depending some circumstances he encounters through journey. Depression almost always been present when is addressing ominous imaginary persona, “the boy named Crow.” change believed to be linked as compass that weaves rationale and mental capabilities intriguing character.
